Problem

People live in ways that hurt the environment which is a cause of climate change. This problem affects many species on our planet especially the animals who live in the Arctic depending on the ice for their survival such as ringed seals and polar bears. Plus, when the Arctic species declined, it has an effect on species that depend upon them and the ecosystem. In addition, climate change will raise the global temperature, increase sea level and ocean acidification as well as decrease the glacial and snow cover.

Solution

Create a mobile application that will encourage, connect and challenge people to take care of the environment around them by taking an action through an app to earn items and redeem them as rewards.

Research

What is the Arctic?

  • The Arctic is one of the most unique places on Earth. Over 13 million people live in the Arctic. Also, the Arctic spreads out over eight countries, including the United States.

  • The Arctic has a wider kind of animal life than Antarctica, such as Arctic Hare, Arctic Wolf, Harp Seal, Polar Bear, Ermine, Reindeer, and so on.

  • The Arctic ocean is home to some special marine species on the globe. Also, almost half of the fish caught in the United States comes from the Arctic.

Why do we need to help?

The discharge of greenhouse gasses is the main reason for climate change and warm temperatures in the Arctic. The greenhouse gasses are also making a lower level of sea ice, melting permafrost, and rising sea levels all over the world.

Branding Design

Logo

The logo is the combination of the icon and word-mark. We created it by using the simple rule of the Golden Ratio. We use a polar bear and a penguin to represent life. Also, we use negative space to make both of them hold each other - meaning care. In addition, the circle stands for the world.
